MTFD Support Services is a vital part of the department. Based on the "Ladies Auxillary" of the past, these dedicated people provide drinks and food to the firefighters at scenes and training, assist with organizing special events like parades and fundraisers. Late Friday evening. Monroe Township FD was dispatched to a structure fire in the 200 block of Lake rd in Henryville. Chief 201 arrived on scene within 1 minute and reported a working fire in the dryer. Within minutes, the fire extended from the dryer and involved the laundry room. Engine 21 arrived a short time later with heavy smoke showing and a working fire. A 1 3/4" attack line was stretched for an interior attack. The fire was quickly knocked down and contained to the laundry room and kitchen area. All occupants made it out safely and there were no injuries reported. The house suffered heavy smoke damage throughout with heavy fire and water damage near the fire rooms. Car 201, Engine 21, Engine 22, Tanker 21, Tanker 23, Rescue 21, and Utility 23 responded. During overhaul process, Engine 22 responded to a brush fire on I-65.
