MTFD Support Services is a vital part of the department. Based on the "Ladies Auxillary" of the past, these dedicated people provide drinks and food to the firefighters at scenes and training, assist with organizing special events like parades and fundraisers. MTVFD is currently hiring full-time and part-time employees.
Currently, we have an opening for a regular position, 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday. This role is primarily the ambulance driver role. However, fire certification and ability to perform firefighting duties is still required. The ambulance responds to all fire calls, as well as car crashes/rescues. EMT certification for the driver role is not required. CPR, and the EVOC course by New Chapel EMS is required upon hiring.
Part-time positions consists of Firefighter, or Firefighter/EMR (or EMT). These positions are 8-5, Monday-Friday, and 7am-7pm Saturday-Sunday. (8am-8pm is also an option, if scheduling needs require) The firefighter/EMR positions are responsible for every-day operations at MTVFD, including responding to emergency calls, station maintenance, equipment checks, special details, and other duties. Firefighters must be physically fit and capable of firefighting duties.
The pay rate for all positions is currently $15/hour.
